If memory serves it was '72 when I bought the watch. Wore it a few years and into the drawer it went. 40 years later it is back on my wrist.. Her is one of the other watches from my Navy days. An Omega "Soccer Timer"

you sure knew how to pick em apparently, a couple of real winners.  Question, it was a long time ago, but was the yellow racing bezel Seawolf by itself in a display case or were there more of the same type.  Its a rare model judging by how few have shown up.

It was a long time ago, Navy PX in Subic Bay. I seem to recall a blue colored one as well. Several watches were the regular black on black divers, but they were not Zodiacs. Also had some cheap Rolex Submariner knockoffs with the "Pepsi" bezels as well. I have only seen one other yellow/black checkerboard it was on the web and it had a black dial.

Here is the last of my "Navy" watches bought in 95 and worn hard until last year when the crown no longer would screw down. Fixed and ready to go another 15 years..
