Title: Orbiter crown
Post by: L. Ocle on March 15, 2012, 09:50:06 AM
Anyone knows or got a picture of original Orbiters' crown?

BTW... why are them so hard to see? I assume is because the model name was soon changed to Astrographic.

I think I spotted one... non-working and with incorrect crown... but an Orbiter!

thanks!

The orbiter was the model in the late 60's with the date at 3 and the 21K movement. In the early 70's Zodiac went with the high beat 36K movement, rebranding models as SST, and the Orbiter became the Astrographic and the date moved to 12.

Sorry, I forgot to answer the other question. The Orbiter crown was the same crown used on the Astrographics.

This is an example of an Orbiter, to include pictures of it pre-SST movement, a caliber 72 D.
