Title: Return of the jedi: Zodiac SST 36000
Post by: Tristan on September 22, 2010, 03:07:37 PM
First, let me introduce myself : I'm from Germany, 36 years old, and very interested in vintage zodiacs, still I own only one watch.
I call it:  The jedi
For me it has a wonderful blue dial with a blue mysterious back-lit  dial.
I bought the watch from a seller in Washington state and it has the fast-beating Zodiac cal. 86d movement inside.

Regards,
Tristan

That is a rarely seen version of that model and one of the nicer ones I have seen. It came about in the later 70's when Zodiac did some mix-mashing of exiting parts to come out with new models and it is based on the earlier Astrographic, as I am sure you have already figured out.

Hello Butch
Thank you for your reply.
I guessed it was a predecessor of the astrographic because it is designed more conventional.
I am also interested to get a Zodiac watch with moonphase of the 50's.
But it is hard to find here.

Regards,
Tristan

There are lots of 3DMPs on eBay, just be careful in that parts are difficult to come by and they are very expensive to get serviced.
