Hi, I'd like to show you a super-disco-fashion piece, a Corsair automatic of late 70's (it appears in a '77 catalogue).

I should have liked better to find the stainless steel version, but real NOS pieces are getting so hard to find that I could not let it pass, especially finding it in my own city.

Nice buy! Is it normal to find watches with the date in English in Spain? Or do you think this is an import and just unusual to find it in Spain?

There are also Zodiacs (and most main brands of the era) with Spanish date windows, but they were produced in much less amount, so English (and French) were more widely sold.

Zodiac Iberia SL (the Spanish branch name in those years) was mainly a distributor. So they ordered to Switzerland some -not really many- "Spanish" pieces of every model they were interested in, and if sold out, they imported  additional "ordinary" pieces of the same model.

The same for other brands. When they did, that was not always. Some models sold only in the standard anglo version.  Even Spanish brands of the era, as Festina, Radiant or Duward, used to have english words since movements were bought to swiss watchmakers (mainly ETA SA) without any concern about producing spanish discs.

So it's really usual to find pieces with dates in English in Spain. To be honest, much more usual than in Spanish.

That's why I'm looking for a black automatic mid 60's Triple Calendar Moon Phase with date in Spanish...  I know it exists...  ;D
