Post by: Butch on February 16, 2012, 06:22:07 PM
We all have one, this is mine. Thoughts?

Wow, that's an early one with the non-reinforced hands and the different back with the 10 ATM rating. The case looks great and even the dial. I'd leave the dial alone. The lume is faded, but I think it adds character and the originality is worth preserving. Finding one of those skinny, early bezels might prove difficult, but that's part of the fun. Do you have one available?
What are the plans?

I have not been able to find a bezel that goes on this case. I am sure it is metal though. An enamel one will sit on there but not snap in place and the metal ones I have will not snap onto it. I have never seen anything like this before. The serial number suggests very early 60's and I am thinking it may be a transition piece from the 50's 10 ATM SW/Diver to the snap back 20 ATM 60's model we all know.

If anyone comes across a metal bezel that will not fit a SW I would sure like to try it on this hummer.

I'll keep my eyes open. If I found a bezel in bad shape, like on a parts Sea Wolf, would you be interested? Can BWG refinish one of those bezels to your liking?

I don't care about the condition, just want to see one that fits it. I have tried 2 watchmaker friends, and all of mine, we had nothing that fit it. Appreciate you help if you can.

Not a clue on the bezel, but that does remind me that I need to get going again on my own project SW.  Good luck with yours, Butch.
