:o what a beautiful watch!! you are one lucky guy for sure. i have never seen one like this--it really is classy looking and even has the zodiac band. wish i could tell you something about it. i really like the simple uncluttered dial. maybe one of the members knows something  about its age.  JON

Adrian, please do not take the following wrong. As a newbie I am simply going to feed you with a fire hose.

Zodiacs have been made since 1882, through various owners. You may want to review the Information tab.
Your watch is from the mid 70's and is in the 1975 Zodiac catalog. It has the high beat SST movement and needs a service, for a couple reasons. Firstly, it is 35 years old and the oil in it is not what it was when assembled. Secondly, you are losing 5 sec./day.  You may want to review the Service tab.   The SST's, when SOLD NEW were guaranteed to be accurate to 1 min./mo. so yours could be better.

If you are willing to share, what did you pay for that very nice watch? I cannot tell for sure from the pics, does the crown have the Zodiac logo on it? Nice catch!

He paid £155.99 - it was on ebay. The seller had it listed as a "Beautiful ZODIAC Gold Plate Automatic 2002".

Very nice watch.

And considering similar (but older) models sell for $800 US on some watch restoration sites (yes, I know they're horrifically overpriced), I think he got a great deal. The sellers lack of knowledge paid of here - as if he'd disclosed it was a 1975 model it would have gone for much more.

Thanks guys for comments :). That it's true, I paid 155,99 pounds.  My Zodiac looks  much better in reality than in the photos........ I know a little history about Zodiac, and some informations about conservation. Accuracy of my watch is enough for me, it's hard to belive for me that new Zodiacs had only 2 sec. per month........but maybe. I live in Poland, and we don't have too many specialists. Hardly any could service it at an appropiate level.

Sorry man! Was doing to many things at once, and I have corrected the above timing specification.

Hi,

I'm from Czech republic and I believe you can find someone in Poland as well.  My story is: I bought an old zodiac watch about a month ago and I wanted it serviced. I read some discussion forums about watches in Czech and went to one place nearby they recommended. I still cannot tell the result but they at least seemed very nice and helpful - told me they would change the crown and it would be done soon. Then called me it would take longer because they needed to custom made one part (I'm not sure now which one) and it would be more expensive if I agree.

Anyway, congratulations to very nice watch.
