Title: Looking for more info on Zodiac automatic, no model name or number
Post by: kdraggoo on June 29, 2020, 11:37:07 AM
I'm looking for more information on a watch my dad found in his trunk o' nostalgia.

It looks almost exactly like item 12 on the Gallery -> Miscellanious page.

So much, in fact, I'm going to copy most of the details. The major difference is a date at 3.

Zodiac Swiss Automatic. The outside back says Zodiac + logo - Water & Shock resistant- Automatic-Anti magnetic. Numbered #1872240. Champagne original dial with raised gold bars at 3, 9, 12 - with black ceramic blocks and white letters. There is a date window at the 3:00 position.

I'd like to know more identification details (e.g., year, model, crystal material, case material, etc.). Also, I'm an amateur watch repair person. If anybody has any tips, diagrams, oil specs or anything else that would help, I'd be greatly appreciative. Hopefully, I can bring some new life to this great-looking piece for my dad. Thanks!

That is an early 60's dress watch.

Thanks! Is it part of a specific product line? Is there a repair manual for it?

Just a dress watch. On ZodiacCatalogs.com yes, but not sure how much use it would be to an amateur to be honest.
