Title: Zodiac Catalogs are now online!
Post by: Butch on August 08, 2011, 11:21:19 AM
Thanks to a herculean effort on Sea Wolf's part, and with the help of some beta testers, our subscription reference section is now available for the Zodiac Collector. You can click on the  button in the upper right corner of any page. Once at the new site, after you watch the beautiful intro find all the information and a demonstration of the features within.

This new subscription service is like visiting the reference section in the library, only no copier. You can read and learn, and return as often as you would like to! Here you will find the following:

- 26 Sales Catalogs - browse and zoom interactive books - My, how we've grown this! 18 to 26!
- 6 Service Manuals - browse and zoom interactive books
- Various materials that came with many Zodiac watches that may be downloaded.

We are constantly looking for new reference materials, purchasing them, and coding it for display!

Due to the considerable cost, and the massive amount of work that was involved, there is a copyright agreement you should read before joining as your membership constitutes agreement. VintageZodiacs.com will remain free, but we will be making some changes and some features will now only be available to VZ Team members.

Thank you all for your support and encouragement over the years! Please respond here with your thoughts, comments, and ideas for improvements. We really did do this for you, the Zodiac Collector. You should look forward to more additions as they become available too.

Thank you Butch for allowing this to happen.  The catalogs have been an invaluable resource for my shopping addiction.

:agreei    I am extremely glad that I bought my subscription!  The site is full of great info for researching the Zodiacs that I already have (and the ones that I want to have in my collection!).  Great supersized pics and fast loading pages make it both visually appealing and easy to navigate as well.  There is nowhere else on the web that I could get the same information, infinitely valuable to the Zodiac collector.   Butch and Seawolf, thanks again for all of your hard work!

As someone who does a fair amount of work maintaining a website and writing out endless lines of html coding, I am well aware of the amount of work that went into this. Kudos to everyone who was involved. The subscription price is WELL WORTH IT! Many watch collectors and dealers don't seem to understand this, but the small amount of a subscription to a service like this will almost always pay you back MANY TIMES OVER in scoring a great deal, or avoiding a bad deal when a certain watch just isn't what it's purported to be. I'm glad I kept the heat on Butch over these past few years to make these catalogs available. Everything is very user friendly, and the catalogs download quickly. Well done.

We just added another service manual today! That makes 6 now. The service manuals are good for watchmakers, we know, but also for the collector.

How so, Butch?

I am glad you asked! Let's say your need a new pawl for your 70-72 movement and your watchmaker cannot find it. You look at the 70-72 page and see that the pawl is part number 220. Then you look at the other calibers and find it is also used in the 88 movement. BAM! You jump on eBay and buy any SST with date only and instant spare part.

For those that are interested, we have added a new page to ZodiacCatalogs.com which shows descriptors of what each sales catalog and service manual contains.
