Did I get these two Zodiacs for decent prices?

Hi,

I have started to tinker with old watches over the summer and started looking at the local swap meet for broken watches to try to fix for $3 to 5 dollars each. In my search to find old movements, I started to look at eBay for cheap movements and noticed the Zodiac brand (lots of old Zodiacs being sold for parts). I did some research (found this website as a result) and started to look for a few working models to start a collection of vintage watches.

I have a Hermetic Incasecurit and a Glorious both in very poor aesthetic condition that do kind of run; I'm going to work on those next after I get an Elgin that I'm working on finished.

Anyway, I just wanted to know if I got decent deals on a couple of Zodiacs that I just won on eBay for my collection. Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Good deal on the Astro.  Not sure about the other.

Thank you for the welcome Sea Wolf.  I'm glad to learn that I got a decent price for the Astro. In and of itself, I really like the Olympos so I figure that I got cool watch a little history behind it for a good price.

I'm excited because the Olympos should be in the mailbox at home right now. Can't wait to see it.

I modified your post, please read the forum rules.

IMHO you got a fantastic deal on the Astro, and ANY time you get a decent looking, running, Zodiac on eBay for under $100 you are doing good now a days.

Butch,

Thank you for the polite warning, sorry about that.

And thank you for that rule of thumb, that is going to be my starting point when looking at Zodiacs.  Now I don't feel so bad on all of the other Zodiacs that I couldn't afford. There was one beautiful Glorious that had a black dial with gold trim two or three weeks ago on eBay, holy crap was that a nice one but I couldn't afford it.

Man, I've been looking at some of the postings of other eBay items in the forum that have appeared over the past few weeks and now I'm almost scared to bid on watches in general because of fraud. Fortunately I can't afford the more expensive watches (over $150) so I'm hoping that I won't fall into some thief's listing. Fortunately I'm not into diving watches so I think that I'm spared the Sea Wolf trap but believe me, I'll be using the galleries for reference from now on.
