Zodiac Watch Guard?

Is this watch guard original?  Never seen one of those on a Zodiac.

I don't think it is an original Zodiac part. These were popular during World War I. They called them  Shrapnel Guards and you see a lot of trench watches with them. Most were after market and not original to the watch. Still, might be a good way to get a few more $ out of a Zodiac.

No, and neither did the band. It also looks to me like it MAY have even had a redial at some point in its life. (That model is from the 50's). Tough to tell the last though from the crummy pictures.
