72 Year Old Zodiac!

I always tell BWG that I do not expect him to make silk from a sow's ear, but he has really outdone himself on this one.

This watch is from the very early 1940's and has a 5 digit serial number. While not the most popular models for collectors, of late I have been concentrating on low serial numbers. I think this is my first one with 5 digits though. I have several examples of the early Hermetic and I always try to pick up a different dial when I buy one. As the case is plated it has seen better days. (I have a SS case model, probably a more expensive model back then, and it is in fine shape.) The picture makes the dial look much harsher than it really appears. Neat orange second hand matching the dial color. The nice thing is that it was engraved with the year it was presented.

Not for everyone, I know, but BWG did a great job while leaving it all original. He offered to do many things to it but I liked it this way.

:agreei Very cool WWII era watch, and that dial has aged perfectly!
