Seawolf Reborn

In 1965 California, I bought a new Seawolf.  Six months later, I was shipped to Vietnam with the Zodiac in tow.  That watch was a godsend, with those large triangles at 6, 9 & 12 and wide hands, it made watch and message keeping a lot easier and more stealthy in the pitch black night.

The watch had deteriated badly over time. Three years go, I dug it out and had it cleaned. It was still pretty ugly as the radioactive lume had long gone and the dark residue had turned the face into something not at all like I remembered.

It did 't get worn until month ago when I sent it out to be completely refurbished.  I picked it up yesterday.
Now, he face is clean and pretty with those triangular wedges of lume and hands front and center, shining as they did long ago... Well, for a few hours, at least.

The only concession I made was to have the original crown replaced with one a little more substantial.  The watchmaker said it wouldn't be water tight otherwise.  I'm a hacker, so I suspect the new crown will eventually be sporting a proper logo soon enough.

It's amazing how different the watch is with the crud removed, face cleaned and lume replaced.  I can see now what had attracted my attention in a Los Angeles jewelry store fifty years ago.

I see the photo posted upside down... Just think of it as a watch with the triangle's at 12, 3 & 6.
