SST case back gasket

Started by Heychris, August 18, 2022, 03:53:26 PM

Heychris

All,
Does anyone know if the caseback gasket for an SST is a standard o-ring or maybe a flat o-ring?  It seems to tuck into a groove.  I know parts are scarce.

What do other people do without proper gaskets?
1. stuff an o-ring in there?
2. go without a gasket?

Thanks

Chris

Butch

You can get gaskets. Just measure it and call a parts house and order them. They'll probably make you order a bag of 5 or ten, but they are cheap.

Heychris

Is it a standard round o-ring?

Butch

Yes, here is an example for another model. I think yours will be bigger than these so don't order any until you take your measurements.
