hummm---?? dial looks right, is that an incorrect movemment i see there? isnt the 70-72 the sea wolf movement and not as hi- beat as the SST??

Nice spotted, I think you are right. 88D was the movement in most Astrographics, correct? At least 86 and 88 (and perhaps 78) movements are the high beats.

I think the dial looks a bit missplaced in some pictures, but thats probably because of the thick crystal and the different angles.

Koreck! It is a replacement movement. The SW, GMT, etc. used the 7x series. The SSTs used the 88 (date) and 86 (Day/Date).
