My watch is possibly magnetized

My new vintage SSW seems to be running as much as 30 seconds fast per day.  Rather than open the watch, which I am leery of doing, I am thinking it may be magnetized.  Is there a home made demagnetizer?

Thanks

paul, i doubt that that is the cause, modern watches just dont get magnetized much. more likely is it needs a good cleaning and adjustment. our watch repair guy told me when he did my GMT that he had it down to +/- 5 seconds a day, factory new specs. if yours is a once in a while wearer like a lot of mine are 30 sec a day is really good. be proud of your SSW, it is a great part of zodiac history AND a very fine watch.  JON
