General Zodiac Discussion / Re: Zodiac Sea Wolf Glorious D...

Hell, today the movement is worth $100.

Thanks Butch, I assumed it was a redial just strange to use a different model or maybe that dial happened to be lying around at the time. I worked with a jeweler who would make repairs with whatever gold was in reach on the bench, sometimes different colored gold, which customers were not always happy with. I bought the watch for the bracelet really, thanks again for the confirmation.

It's a redial and they used the Glorious die instead of the Sea Wolf die.

General Zodiac Discussion / Zodiac Sea Wolf Glorious Dial
Last post by vintagewatchhound - June 17, 2022, 05:10:04 PM
Picked up this Sea Wolf on eBay a few months ago and looking for input on the dial. The case and bracelet are what I expect to see though the Glorious dial is a mystery. I think it unlikely that it left the factory this way. It  looks like a pretty good job of transforming the dial otherwise. The movement is a 73 with reference number 732-916. It runs fine though I'm still deciding whether it's a novelty or an aberration. Thanks for any suggestions.

No need to apologize, we all had to start learning at one point. Very nice specimen.

As for servicing, check out the Watch Repair tab above.

It must be ref #722 836.
Style 1796.
Would date it as early 1970s.
Very fine specimen.

My father was introduced to Sea wolf's in his time in Vietnam, and started collecting them towards the end of his life.  He left his collection to me, and while I am super interested in them, they are hard to find info on, or places that can repair them.  That said, I have one that I can't seem to find any info on, so I thought I would try here.  I am just looking for a model number, or anything about the watch.  I do believe it is pre 2000, but unsure.  I apologize in advance if it isn't.  Any help would be appreciated, and thanks a ton.

I am trying to identify a specific Zodiac watch.  The watch in the blurry photo is the one I am trying to identify.  The other photos are samples which are similar.  Any information or advice would be much appreciated.  I have used the vintage Zodiac catalogs to help provide additional information in the attached image.  Thank you

- mens
- tank/rectangular
- black dial
- yellow-gold case and gold hands
- The same design would likely have been available with a white-gold case and black dial and also with a yellow-gold case and white dial.  I am looking for an example of the closest model I can find, regardless of color.
Thanks!
