Title: Unexpectedly inherited a Zodiac from Dad
Post by: samgibson78 on December 03, 2022, 01:41:16 AM
Dad passed away from lung cancer this fall.  Mom is cleaning out things and going through those little personal misc treasure boxes we all have tucked away in desks and cabinets. She tells me she found a watch that she hasn't seen in decades... like 30-40 years. She swears she didn't wind it up or move it around much, and I never remember seeing Dad wear it. Amazingly, even though it hasn't been touched in possibly decades, it's still running. Doesn't make any sense how or why, but it brought some tears of joy and a smile to her face, so I'm not questioning it :)

It's a Sea Wolf Automatic 20 ATM, and the serial number is 2359392. There's no bracelet and the crystal is quite scuffed up. Pics are attached. Guess I can't upload the video of movement?48F993BA-7C6D-4AAE-B0F5-DBD933F3E09A.jpeg

I'd love to hear the group's thoughts and suggestions on ways to proceed.  There's the path of keeping the patina and putting a NATO band on it, or the path of restoration.  Or, other options that I'm not aware of.

Congratulations! That will make a fine family heirloom.

Any suggestions on what model it might be? I've looked through the catalogs and all the pics, but haven't been able to specifically place it. Seems like it's late 60s to early 70s, but what I can't find any samples with the combo of bezel, face, and hand styles.

It is ref #722 946, style 1750B.
Period is late 60s - early 70s indeed.
Hands aren't correct for this dial. Must be later replacement.
