Hi. First post here. Let me just start by saying that you have a wonderful site here full of information. I recently acquired this vintage Seawolf and as you can see by the picture, (Sellers), it is missing the bezel. Also not shown is the fact the back case cover is also missing. Can someone here point me to a source where I can purchase these missing parts?

Thanks in advance

That's a nice looking wolf, interesting olongapo style bracelet too.

Parts are hard to come by, I've had to buy donor/parts watches to try and cobble some working pieces together.  Bezels are especially hard to find unless its that burgundy enamel job that floated around ebay for a few years.

Ebay is still your best bet.

Thanks Dave. I know I have my work cut out, but it is a labor of love as we all know here. As for the bezel, is this what you are referring to:

If anyone is interested in getting an Olongapo bracelet for their Sea Wolf, I bought 2 from Jaffy Jurado. The guy is excellent and can put anything on the bracelet you can immagine. His e-mail is jurado@seipi.org.ph  The bracelets run about $125

That being said...What is the lug witdth of a Sea Wolf?

Hi Chris,

no unfortunately that's the bezel for a later day (mid/late 70's?) Seawolf.  Its kinda clunky and bigger (40mm) and nowhere as elegant as the classic ones.

You need to keep watching ebay or put a wtb out there on this forum or broadarrow.net and see what turns up.  Bezels are even harder to find than bracelets.  Every once in a while, some pop up on ebay.  Good luck on the hunt and keep us updated.

18mm, the olongapos look very interesting.  Are they comfortable?

I think a classic rubber tropic looks great on the Seawolf as well.

Hi Guys. Good news. The seller of my SW has found the original case back cover and has sent it to me. The only problem that I have now is that the cover does not stay in place. Is there a piece that goes between the case and the cover that helps them to adhere to each other?

Thanks in advance.

Butch

It is a snap back, take it to a local jeweler and have him use a tool to put it back on for you. Or, if not serviced recently, just send the pieces to a repairman and he will put it on after the service.

Olongapos are very comfortable if they are sized right. If you order from Jaffy you will have to send him your wrist size. I strongly suggest that you tell him 1/4 in bigger than it is. Inside the clasp there are three notches so if it ends up being too big you can make it smaller. I ordered mine and gave the exact size. It's comfortable, but snug. If I had to do it again I would do it the way I describe. I have to say... I love mine.

You are right Badfish. My band fits just perfect on me and feels like it is not here 8)

Hey Chris! I know you probably thought of this already, but in case you didn't did you post on the other forums and attempt to buy a parts watch. I saw one on MWR and I know you frequent that site as well. That may be the best way to get you your bezel. I hope you know I got my eyes out looking for you as well as the case back. Best of luck!

Badfish179

Chris. I found a vintage parts watch like yours on e-bay. Check vintage zodiacs. It has the bezel and caseback you need. ( I think)

ChrisG

Many thanks for your help Badfish. I have my eye on two from the bay at this time. Hope to give good news soon.  ;D

Chris, if you win that parts watch, I'd be interested in buying whatever you're not using. I have a NOS case/bezel/glass and need a movement and crown/stem...
Searching for a Zodiac Libra!

OK Nalu. I will see what I have when I get it.
