Now I'm obsessed with the idea of a cocaine based lume... :twothumbsup

Honestly not sure, I think those dials are just signed Swiss or Swiss Made.  The lume content seems to be something that some of the watch boards/online collectors are really obsessed with now, but I don't snort or lick the lume regardless of which type it is....

Thanks - super helpful. And any informed guesses on whether the lume would be radium or tritium? I suppose a geiger counter may be in order.

The pictures do not make it easy to tell but it looks like a pretty nice original dial.  Not easy to find on these (or any triple date moonphase honestly) because they are the furthest thing from moisture resistant there is.  As long as it is not missing the adjustment buttons or the triple date/moonphase module isn't rusted together it could make a nice example.

Hey gang,

You cannot view this attachment. I've had an itch for a moonphase complication and came across this ebay auction: 125649141298

Looks authentic to my untrained eye and the poor quality images are a concern. But the seller's history is filled with poor quality pictures, so...(maybe I am rationalizing).

Seems like a bit of a gamble (even at the current bid price), but could clean up nicely. Seller says it's functional and will provide a picture of the movement, but obviously need to factor in a service by BWG...

Would love to hear any opinions you feel like offering.

Thanks!

It is ref #722 946, style 1750B.
Period is late 60s - early 70s indeed.
Hands aren't correct for this dial. Must be later replacement.

Any suggestions on what model it might be? I've looked through the catalogs and all the pics, but haven't been able to specifically place it. Seems like it's late 60s to early 70s, but what I can't find any samples with the combo of bezel, face, and hand styles.

Watch Stories / Unexpectedly inherited a Zodia...

Dad passed away from lung cancer this fall.  Mom is cleaning out things and going through those little personal misc treasure boxes we all have tucked away in desks and cabinets. She tells me she found a watch that she hasn't seen in decades... like 30-40 years. She swears she didn't wind it up or move it around much, and I never remember seeing Dad wear it. Amazingly, even though it hasn't been touched in possibly decades, it's still running. Doesn't make any sense how or why, but it brought some tears of joy and a smile to her face, so I'm not questioning it :)

It's a Sea Wolf Automatic 20 ATM, and the serial number is 2359392. There's no bracelet and the crystal is quite scuffed up. Pics are attached. Guess I can't upload the video of movement? You cannot view this attachment.

I'd love to hear the group's thoughts and suggestions on ways to proceed.  There's the path of keeping the patina and putting a NATO band on it, or the path of restoration.  Or, other options that I'm not aware of.
