What does the Red, Silver, or Gold Dot on my watch mean?

This question was asked before, but wasn't answered directly.

Most of us know there are blue, red, silver and gold point/dot versions of Zodiac automatic watches made in the late 90's and early 2000's.

The question is what does each color dot represent in movement quality, finish and type ?

Thanks,
