Those are cool.  Too bad they didnt just do an all mechanical movement in them like a car-clock size.  Would have made it more durable.  A dealer had a NOS one of those are the local watch show a few months ago.  I was looking at it, and really interested, until he hit me with the price.......$1400!  I gently handed it back to him and thanked him for his time.

Good question SW. I saw the wires just hanging about so, being a cautiousness buyer, I emailed them and asked. They responded  "DOES NOT WORK.".

Interesting observation, his ad did not say that. He did not check the box to show you my question and his answer. And he  has not yet gone back in and modified the auction to fix this minor omission. Let's just hope he is too busy right now and does so before the auction ends.
