Title: Inherited a Rotographic
Post by: nickmobile67 on December 04, 2012, 01:29:57 PM
I'm new here so I hope this is ok to post. I inherited this Rotographic with the box, I was wondering if someone could tell me more about it and what it might be worth? It probably hasn't been serviced since the '70's at least, but it still works great and keeps good time. Sorry for the lousy picture. Thanks!

The box is from a Rotographic but the watch looks like maybe a Hermetic but without a close up of the watch head I cannot tell for sure.

Before wearing it check the Service tab, it describes you to a T.

Thanks, I'll take a better look at it tonight and see about posting better photos. Where do I find the service tab?

Also, what is the difference between the Rotographic and the Hermetic?

Two different models, but the company may have used that box for the Hermetic too. Who knows, it was 50 years ago man.

You are indeed correct, it does say Hermetic on the face. The back just says 10k gold filled, antimagnetic, waterproof.

Okay can you tell me more about it? I'd like to know when it was made and what it's worth before I put money into it.

They run a couple hundred dollars when complete like yours. IF you want to wear it, that would make a fine family heirloom.
