Seawolf straps

The lug width on the 60/70s seawolfs are 17.5mm, correct? With no zodiac bracelets in sight what is the short term solution? I'd guess something like a NATO strap that is 18mm wide will fit because it is thin and flexible, is that right? Anyone have any luck squeezing an 18mm leather strap in them or are you better off searching for old 11/16 and 17.5mm strap/bands?

Is 16mm an option or too much gap?

Thanks!

I think a 16 mm strap would leave more gap than I would like. An 18 mm strap in my way of thing is almost perfect and I wear a lot of them. Almost any nylon strap is good. NATO's, military style pull through as well as a 2 piece nylon strap are all pretty nice. I'd stay away from ZULU's and the thicker dive straps, since they just overpower the watch. I have never been a fan of leather straps on sport watches, but an 18 mm leather strap would also work as long as it isn't too stiff to give a little.
Here is my favorite after market strap for a Sea Wolf.

It is the 18 mm real 007 Bond 2 piece strap. I also know where you can get them for $14 shipped.

Is that an 18mm wide strap at the end and 17.5mm springbars inside?

dmh

Strap is 18 mm non tapered. Springbars are probably 18 mm also.
