A Transitional Sea Wolf

This is the first time I have ever come across one of these. All I can figure it is is a transitional piece that they decided to improve on to get to the one we know in the 60's.

My watchmaker spent months on this restoration for me, so I had to find just the right band for it. What better than one made in the 60's?

That is definitely a cool one Butch!  That band really looks great on it

I really dig the bracelet butch :) This Seawolf seems to have the radium dial. Radium was banned in the sixties I believe...
The hands are missing the extra division you see in the later models, meant to better hold the luminous material.

Heres my oldster. Bezel was thinner than the recent ones.

It seems to me that you guys are focusing on the dial. And you guys call yourselves Sea Wolf fans.  :wtf

Nice watches though.

nice bubbleback caseback too, lol.

Butch

You're getting closer, but I am still not sure you are actually getting it though.

While we are sharing old ones, here is another one, not the same watch though.

Do you mean the ten atm rating (same as the older pre-Seawolves) versus the 20 atm rating of true wolves?  Text is placed closer to the center rather than around the rim in the modern-er ones.

Butch

Exactly. It it like they were halfway there with this model. Eventually they got it where they wanted to be.

its a fascinating time line and a couple of beautiful vintage pieces.  BTW, did you ever calculate how many Seawolves you had in your collection.

Now? Or over the past 20 years? I buy and sell a lot.

I completely missed the 10 atm rating :)
The other zodiac with AS movement on your other pic is also very nice.
