Lol. I saw that listing as well. Those boys over at Heuer sure were considerate the way they were making the competition's watches for them. If only we could see that level of comraderie anymore.

Thank god for Ed Heuer.  He made our hobby possible.  Can we get a day in his honor somehow ? ? ?  Or perhaps a solid gold statue of him in a city square here somewhere ? ? ?

And at the same time, Squale were making cases for Heuer, at least for some models!
Incestuous lot, weren't they!

I cannot imagine that business model has changed very much in the past 100 years.

An interesting if little known fact here. Ken Genender told me about when he approached Fossil in 2002 to see if he could get them to distribute his Zodiac 2000 models. (They have a HUGE distribution system.) Unbeknownst to Ken, Fossil had been wanting to come out with a genuine Swiss watch brand and move up in the world. Fossil had already lined up a case company, a movement company, and a dial company in Switzerland and they were deciding what to do about a brand when Ken walked in for the distribution discussion. About half way through the second day Fossil up and offered Ken 5 times more than he had paid for the Zodiac brand in 1998. And the rest, as they say, is history.
