$180 for a plastic/rubber strap. <shaking head> I always found them cheap looking myself.

They are very comfortable. You can buy a no name copy for about $15, the rest of the price seems to be the name "tropic".  ???

Like buying a nice NSA bracelet, the price is much higher when the clasp says, "Zodiac" or worse, "Rado" or even more worse "Zenith".....

But it's plastic/rubber. Maybe I am just to damn old. BTW, I never liked the rubber bands that came with ANY SSW either. When I was a kid they were considered cheap. Maybe it is just a carry over from then. To each his own I guess.

Those people buy a Leica because it says "Leica" on the front, while a superior performing Nikon/Canon etc is much cheaper...
More money than brains. (more cool stuff for us)

I am a fan of the proper rubber band on a Zodiac.

The SSW 90 and early 2000 model came with a great rubber strap, very comfortable.

That tropic is way too expensive.

I checked the listing and its currently US $245.99!  I bought 2 of these (18mm) in the last couple of months for $50 each for my Sea Wolf and Aerospace GMT.
