Replacement crystal for a black triple date moonphase

My Zodiac triple date moonphase (a 1960's Leonard?) is awesome, except I wish its face didn't have such a high domed acrylic, which sits 5mm above the bezel.
Anyone know if this was this standard for the watch?

Any chance that it can be replaced with a lower profile (and ideally glass) face?  On my non-digital caliper, it seems to measure about 31.2mm diameter.

Any parts number?  The closest I've found so far is listed for a Zodiac Eterna, GS  463-7.
