What am I missing?

its hard to negotiate to the true value on this one when the starting price is that high...thats more I've been to  and restored price.

That seller has been on eBay as long as I have. Looks like he has decided to cash in on the ridiculous prices there now a days. Good for him..... If he can get it.

Wow, that one is kind of ugly.  All of his prices are high, always have been, and I question the "originality" of more than a few of the watches he has listed.  However, in regards to this one the biggest drawback is the bezel.  As it stands now, we have no way of repairing that damage and it is likely to get worse......
