Hello to you all. This is my first post so please forgive total ignorance of Zodiac matters.
As I say I have been mainly concentrating on Omega Constellations but do have a few others that interest me,
one of which is the Zodiac Triple Date Moonphase I have attached.
I know that omega did a similar watch but I would not mind something a bit different.
This is advertised as about £750 (probably negotiable). Is this reasonable or typical dealer OTT? Indeed does this seem an original watch.
Thanks.
That is a nice looking piece. IF it has been serviced that would be a fair price. Of course, we all haggle...
Thanks butch.
In the attached image of the movement, is the regulator missing?
Vince
:welc
it appears so, hopefully BWG will chime in
Yes.
I know that it appears the regulator is missing, but in this case it is not. This is a converted balance bridge (would have been done at the factory), in that it still has the holes for mounting the older style regulator but it has the newer screw adjustment for fine regulation (on the lower side of the arm). If this had been intended to have the older style adjustment it would have had the saw-tooth setting surrounding the balance jewel that would interact with the regulating arm.
Fascinating! The more I learn, the less I know.
Is this the adjustment screw?
Vince.
Yes it is
And THIS is why I keep BWG around. Imagine if I were doing the repairs... <shudder>
Many thanks to you all.
Maybe I should offer the seller a lower offer - to take it off his hands. After all, the regulator "appears" to be missing!
I take it the 74 on the rotor is the calibre number?
Yes it is the caliber # and is in the service catalogs.
Stop me if you heard this one. An Omega collector walks into a bar....
and said, " who the **** left that there!"
BTW what's a catslog? A marathon for furbags?
Cell phones suk.

And cleared the place of Zodiac owners by asking who's round it was?
By the way, that screw fine regulator is called a Triovis regulator, and was and still is widely used for watches that want to be very precisely regulated. All my watches with Lemania-derived movements made in the last couple of decades have them, including a Heuer 1963 Re-Edition with a Lemania 1873, an early 2000ish Ebel 1911 Senior with a Lemania 8810, and all of the many Ebels I own with Ebel 137 chronograph calibers, which were based on the Lemania 1340. My caliber 86 Zodiac has the same regulator setup:
