I would likely have to perform last rights on that one....... :dh

I have some great rust removers but that is just too rusty, and appears to have been on there for a really long time.  Movement would be shot, and the case could also have issues as well.  $799 for the chance at a few "useable" parts, I wouldn't take that risk.

I had an Omega Speedmaster 321 in not too long ago in nearly the same condition.  He paid $1000 for it hoping that I could work some magic, but it was out of my hands.  Heavy rust on the movement for a long time rendered it useless.  The rust was so bad that it took me 2 hours to even get the movement out of the case and get the dial and hands off just so he could sell those parts to try and recoup his money.

If you don't mind my asking, what did you charge the Omega owner for your time?

Not enough.  He had 3 watches here, so there were other small tasks included on the 3 along with shipping, but I think it was somewhere around $100.  It was my "learning experience" on a watch this rusty, so I will know better the next time and likely just refuse it from the beginning....

 :lafing.
Good, your time is valuble too.

Man: Doctor, it hurts when I do this.
Doctor: Then don't do that!
