There are 12 bids on this? :o

Wow, thanks. I actually laughed out loud when I saw that.
The vintage relume actually looks pretty cool.  To bad they forgot
the numbers and don't just call it what it is.

Butch

"The dial/hands are original (never repainted)."

Does lum qualify as paint? So relummed is OK then? Without putting the numbers back?

I'm just laying here in bed and found myself thinking about this
watch.  I can't help but wonder what the story here is.  How long has
it been in Saigon?  What happened to the original owner?  Was it
something tragic or something much more benign?  It kind of bugs
me not knowing but I find it fascinating I'm sitting in CT 40 yrs
since this watch was brand new and looking at it in Vietnam....
The stories these things could tell.  It's all to easy for my imagination
to get the best of me.  I wonder what the domestic market was
like for Zodiacs in Vietnam and what the probability is this watch
belonged to an American soldier who may not have made it
home.  Perhaps he was M.I.A. ... and still is.  Maybe it was used
to barter for something.

Butch

That was the insomnia.

But I know what you mean, I used to do something very similar when I came across one that was beat all to hell.

COBBER---i am with you man, if it could only talk! lume looks kinda odd. hey, the nice plastic bezel is worth 100. a LOT of corrosion on the back, watch must have done some extended sea water duty.

For a non-Zodiac person would it be that bad? A friend is seriously thinking of bidding on this as he has always wanted a Seawolf.

Cobber

It's not without some value.  It's just not being advertised truthfully.  Knowingly or not.  However, since the seller claims knowledge of it's authenticity I would have trouble believing anything in the listing.

TheWatcher

Yes fair point. It's very hard to find a seller that doesn't try to jazz things up to make a quicker sale though.
