i use a watch winder for my 2 sea wolfs and 2 gmts. my question is: will these watches wind BOTH ways? my winder has a switch for clockwise OR counter clockwise. i have heard of some winders that rotate cw AND  ccw, is this important??   :BGW: :#Clapping

The automatic movements in the Seawolf and GMT wind both ways, so either setting would be fine.  IMHO all automatics should wind that way, but you run into some (the Valjoux 7750 for example) that only wind in one direction.

:BGW: thanks, that is good news, appreciate the quick reply.

You got my curiosity up now Ultra-Vintage.  In which direction should the Valjoux 7750 be wound?
Thanks.

The winder would have to be going clock-wise for the 7750 to be wound.  The other direction would just slip and not wind the watch.

:BGW:  Thanks for clearing that up for me.  With my winder set at alternating cw and ccw my chrono was only getting wound half the time.  Now, if I could just find out which direction I need to be wound to get a full charge!   :rofl
