Hello everyone. I have a Vintage Zodiac Tachymeter Chronograph Diving Watch in found condition, I think it is circa 1960s. It still works fine, all dials move, however I know little about it other than what the dials show me. I am unable to get the back casing off manually. I'm assuming it needs to be serviced or oiled? Original looking band?? :helpme Any additional tips or knowledgeable information on this watch would be incredibly helpful to me.
Much Appreciated,
Nick
:welc NICK, first --- welcome to our forum! you have found a very nice ZODIAC, well worth having restored. it is NOT a diving watch, dont even think about getting it wet! it is a chronograph movement movement used to time races, calculate lap speeds etc. the bracelet is NOT original to the watch but goes well. i think it is a manual wind, but not sure. does it run at all? wind the crown to the left when you are looking at the watch, if it starts running great. it MUST BE CLEANED, check out our service section, we have a watchmaker we all use here--he is also a forum member. great find, it will be one fine keeper when restored. :BGW: :BGW: :BGW: :BGW:
Jon, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for all the information! Yes, it does wind and keeps good time. Much appreciated!!!
