Title: In search for an original replacement crown for my Zodiac Seawolf
Post by: Watchlover69 on July 23, 2025, 08:12:52 AM
Hello, I am looking for a replacement crown for my vintage Zodiac Seawolf (cal. 70-72) since quite some time. I sadly passed on one because I thought it was too expensive at 120 Dollars. No luck on ebay since months, can someone point me in the right direction or has one to sell? Has someone the exact crown dimensions?

Thank you!

$120 is definitely too much for an original crown for the Seawolf/GMT.  However, many sellers will ask nearly half that pretty regularly.  The correct crown is 5.0mm, with a rounded dome top, tap 10, to fit a 2.5mm tube.  Keep in mind that the original gasket inside these will nearly always be ruined so you are buying the crown for the aesthetic, but moisture resistancy will be non-existent.

Thank you for your help.

Would this crown fit?

I can't find any other crowns, it's hard to get parts shipped to EU.

Yes, that appears to be the correct crown.  That is a seller I know and he will get it shipped out to you quickly.

Thanks for your help, it's like 125 euros as well with duties and taxes but what shall I do. I've ordered that one.

Can you maybe link me an stem as well for my watch?

That seller should have a stem for your watch too.  I would check with him before he mails out the crown.

Oh ok.  It does not look like your watch is a quickset, so your stem should be this one:

eBay item number:164441366688

That is in Italy
