i came across this weird zodiac astro 2000

i know that the astro was discontinued when fossil took over zodiac

but can anyone tell me whether it is authentic or not ??

I have not seen one like that before but see not reason to not think it original. My guess would be it is from the very late 1970's or the 1980's.
