I have never seen a SW with a GMT bezel so would assume this to be a replacement from another watch, maybe not even a Zodiac.

Definitely a replacement.  I have had that model before, and the bezel looks nothing like that.  You are right, not even a Zodiac bezel, and by the looks of the condition of that bezel, they should have left it where they found it!  ;)
