I saw this Zodiac on the Internet... / Re: So i bought this Vintage Sea Wolf....

Yes, but that could mean that all dials have the numbers under the lume and have the lume printed on top after the lume has been applied.

I ran across several Sea Wolf dials with damaged lume on markers. There are no printed numbers underneath. Only on top.

The "irregular" dials are just service dials with no lume applied?
May be.

Checking the catalogues wont answer my question mate. I was in touch with Zodiac, they gave me a contact person who services vintage models, maybe that person knows more about this.
Check the catalogs.

The "irregular" dials are just service dials with no lume applied? This is a divers watch after all, so lume is kinda mandatory. That could also explain why the numbers on the "irregular" dials are not centered, they arent meant to been seen because they are covered under the lume.
are the numbers printed on the lume by the way?
On regular dial with lume applied, the numbers printed on top of it in black paint.
On these "irregular" dials, the numbers applied directly on dial paint inside triangles, using contrast paint. Black for white dial and white for black dial.

The Hermetics are cheap. It is the restoration that has the costs.

That is a cracking collection. I doubt I'll achieve anything quite in that league but thanks for the inspiration.
