Help me identify Zodiac

Newbie...
found an old Zodiac at a thrift shop $3.  I had heard of them as I am just getting into this hobby and snapped it up.  Rough is not the word.. Very ABUSED non, runner.  Question....what model and year could this be?  I have removed movement from the case and began disassembly for cleaning (The movement is gorgeous 17 jewel Swiss so I am elated to score this.) Inside the case looks like a threaded ring insert with tangs for hours. Case is brass/copper maybe?  Face is honeycombed.   Winding stem is broken, cheap flex band, busted crystal, etc.  Anyhow need to start by identifying.  This watch has a very cool vibe to me so I intend to bring it back to life and wear it. Your replies appreciated.

Case back after extensive polishing

That is a linen dial dress watch from the 1950s. In pretty good shape considering its age. As Zodiac was a Swiss brand it would of course have a Swiss movement.

Kind thanks for the info.  Somewhere along the way the case was held by pump pliers among other abuse. Hopefully a good cleaning and service plus new winding stem should bring it back. The inner heavy brass ring with tangs has me puzzled. It appears threaded up into the case?  I have not removed it. Possible $ worth of watch?

I believe that is just a movement holder. As for the value, more than you paid for it for sure. Butch Old does not mean it's Gold.
