Welcome to the forum! That is an original Zodiac Aerospace GMT model from the 70's. Using the search about can answer lots of questions answer so often before.

As for your date setting question: https://www.vintagezodiacs.com/zforums/index.php/topic,254.msg270.html#msg270

The later GMTs like that one had the red 24 hour hand.

I do not understand this: the 18 doesn't line up like it does on the new ones?

General Zodiac Discussion / I found this Zodiak in my box ...

I am looking through watches my stepdad left me. There are a lot of genuine Seiko watches, but there was a Tudor that was made from parts.... The case was not genuine. So... I feel like I am walking in a field of landmines when I a looking at his watches....

I can't tell if it is a fake or real. 24 hour crown, the 18 doesn't line up like it does on the new ones, but does look like the vintage. However, I haven't seen a vintage with the RED 4th hand?

Any advice you can give me would be useful. I really am new to this. Not looking to sell, but want to know what to look for and what I should know about my watch. I can send more photos if needed. You cannot view this attachment.

I also don't know how to change the date on this watch.

General Zodiac Discussion / Aerospace GMT movements
Last post by vintagewatchhound - December 24, 2022, 05:59:07 PM
I have noticed Aerospace GMT models on eBay with 70-72 movements even though the case reference numbers begin with a 75. I have a 75B model that BWG serviced and repaired the QS date and though the 75 is not QS like a 70-72 I would be displeased to find a different model movement. It's the wild west online, just looking for a different take on this. Thanks :BGW:

Nice watch! That could make a fine family heirloom. Zodiacs were Swiss made watches. That one appears in the 1971 catalog. In 1971 that watch sold to jewelers for $550, which in the fashion then, meant whoever bought it from them would pay $1,100.00. This was a very high end ladies timepiece back then from their Ladies Covered Bracelet Timepiece collection.

Today it really has no value as women's watches, for the most part are not collected. That means it is worth whatever someone is willing to pay for it. Really it is just a 14K bracelet with a watch stuffed under the cover (which can be left out). Having said that, weigh the bracelet now that you have the watch out then google 14K scrap gold value. That is now the minimum value of that watch.

Be sure to check this out before winding it again though. https://www.vintagezodiacs.com/watchrepair.php

General Zodiac Discussion / Inheritance Zodiac Watch - Har...

Hello Zodiac Forum,

First time poster as I recently inherited my first Zodiac. I have researched and researched but cannot find the model. It is marker 14k it is running although I'm not sure how well. It is also marked "Zodiac Rudd" 89170. It looks like a bracelet but the cover flips over and the watch is below.

Most interested in when it was made and where. Right now planning on keeping it but am curious as to value. Any help you all can lend would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!!

The number on the back is the case number. While I have never seen this model I have no reason not to think it is genuine, again, probably from the late 80's. The band had been replaced though.

Here's a few more. Last one shows the serial number, I think...

OK, I was out of town but I managed to take these few pics, hopefully they'll help. I'm in the process of moving to another country so all my precision tools are packed (this I can't pry open the damn thing), but I can make out the number 1222-557 on the caseback). Thoughts??? And also, THANKS for shedding some light about this piece. Saludos from Mexico, at least for the time being! ;)
