Hello,

I'm more of a lurker, than a poster.  But I just won this on the 'bay, and wanted a group opinion.  I'm a classic seawolf collecter, but saw this gold point automaic and put what I thought was a lowball bid on it.  Surprisingly, I won.  Whadaya think? Worth $200?  Auction photos attached, hope it looks as good when it arrives.

You got a helluva deal there Ken. Be careful as there are NO parts for the 1990's models, and the crown/stem combo is prone to stripping. That is the larger version of the Gold Point auto.

The automatic movement is an ETA 2824-2, 25 jewel, is the current caliber used by most modern companies today.

 8) not a bad price AT ALL! i have the stainless/gold version with the creme color dial--LUV IT! bought on the bay a year ago for around $175.00 and the guy emailed me for months wanting to buy it back. these were around $1,200.list new.mine has not been serviced by me but keeps excellent time.the only weird thing is when it is "dead" it takes a BUNCH of windinsg to get it started. probably needs cleaning--SIGH--another time in the future.i hope you got all the links in the bracelet. yours looks REAL good-let us hear when you get it!  JON

Butch,

I assumed this was the smaller one, as everything got so big in the 90's.
What size is the smaller version?

I have the quartz version of that watch.  Bought it for extra links for a Gold Point Chrono that has the crown/stem issue Butch speaks of, it's a real problem.

That automatic for $200 is a very good deal if it's brand new.  Regards, KG
