Seeking information about this Zodiac watch

I have this Zodiac watch that is new-in-box and likely from the 1960's. As shown in the pictures it is number 1732, black dial, 17J-STEEL, automatic, calendar, and originally sold for $95.00.

I have little knowledge about Zodiac watches or watches in general, and would appreciate any information about this watch you can provide.

Thank you.

Butch

That is a rare and valuable specimen in great condition. I see it in the 1966 catalog. The band is not the same but that is OK. Do you have a story on it?

Thanks, Butch. I found it in my wife's aunt and uncle's home on Long Island, New York. I was cleaning out their home in preparation for its sale, and I found the watch in a dresser drawer, likely untouched since it was purchased. They likely bought it new in the mid-1960's, and I will try to find out more about it from them.
