I think we talked about this one...

...but I could not find the original thread.

So do you guys remember this one and the weird band? Well, I bought it due to the low serial number and low and behold, what you see at the top is the clasp of the band opened. When I got it in I realized what it was and flipped it over and snapped it into place. This is one of those after market stretch diver's bands. So, for $45, the upshot is I got a really old NICE watch and can use the springs out of this band to fix one of my SW stretch bands.

This is my blind pig theory at work.

:o  butch,i have a hermetic almost exactly like yours, this is the first time i have seen another one! mine was a birthday gift in 1958 from my parents.mine has the same type gold markers but it has numbers at 12,3,6 AND 9.IT ORIGINALLY HAD A GOLD PLATED CASE AND IT GOT SO WORN I HAD IT CHANGED TO A STAINLESS CASE, in the late 60s.it is a 17jewel, manual wind no date. my dial has some age discoloration, but i will leave it as is, not worth enough to pop for a redial !hands are gold as are the markers on the dial.back is the original with serial # 1119724. what is the low serial # on yours?? you have made my day! thanks WOW--what a suprise to FINALLY see another one! i was living in ARUBA then, they bought the watch at the aruba trading company. probably was inexpensive with a leather band. yours looks REAL good, band is well worth the price. mine still has the signed crown.   JON P
